APC May Lose Kogi if it Fails to Give PMMA Ticket as Igalas Spit Fire Over Ministerial List

The recently released ministerial list of President Muhammed Buhari which seemed the Igalas were boot out has given the Kogi State All Progressive Congress more reasons to consider Prince Mustapha Mona Audu it’s flagbearer in the forthcoming gubernatorial election as the Igala nation who formed the majority group in the state has vowed to dump the party if it fails to adopt the right candidate.

In the wake of the released ministerial list, the people in their scores took to their social media handles to complain bitterly on how it has been sidelined in the national scheme of things since the demise of her key political leader, Prince Audu Abubakar who died wee hours to his election victory to become the governor of Kogi state.

While a segment of the people is accusing the chief of staff to the state governor, Mr. Edward Onoja for her ordeal, other segment accused the presidency of deliberately marginalising the people by pulling the former minister, professor Stephen Ocheni out of the list of cabinet members and not considering any other person worthy within the Igala race. According to some, Edward betrayed them for throwing weight behind the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello with an invented slogan ‘enemuneme’ which means a stranger is better than a brother. It is said that the slogan has caused disunity among the people as a chunk of the Igalas are now Bello’s loyalists who no longer struggle for the survival of Igala Kingdom.

Reacting to the released ministerial nominees’ list which has Hajia Ramatu Tijani who hails from Kogi Central in what seemed like a marginalization to the Kogi East, the PDP youth frontier, Comrade Austin Okai in his response to a post on facebook, said the Igalas decimated themselves through disunity thereby having nobody at the fore front to lobby for them. Akai further confirmed Mona a good candidate for the APC after a meeting he had with the Prince.

It’s said that the Igalas who currently do not occupy any key political postion in Kogi, a state they dominate as the majority group, are in consensus to vote against the APC if it fails to give it’s ticket to the son of their former political leader, Prince Audu Abubakar, Prince Mustapha Mona Audu.
